Berri YouTube Gallery gives you possibility to show a YouTube video gallery with customized appearance on your sidebar and all you need is to write the video URLs in the widget control panel. There is no need to register or to get YouTube API. Easy to customize and you can insert an image in the video thumbnail.

How to install:1. Download berri-youtube-gallery.zip

2. Extract and upload to plugin directory

3. Give write permissions to “wp-content/plugins/berri-youtube-gallery/images” directory

4. Activate plugin

5. Add YouTube Gallery to the Widgets Sidebar

6. Configure the gallery in the widget panel and save configuration

7. That’s all

CONFIGURATION OPTIONS

Berri YouTube Gallery Options

  • Title: The title of the widget
  • Show YouTube watermark?: Check to display a YouTube logo in the thumbnails
  • Show play image?: Check to display an image in the center of the thumbnails
  • Play Image URL: Write the URL of a PNG image to personalize the play image. If is not PNG or if you leave the text-field empty the default play image will be displayed
  • Video URLs: Write the URLs of the videos that you want to show. One URL for each line
  • Display template: The template for each video. HTML code is allowed. You can use %%title%% to display the title of the video, %%url%% to display the video URL and %%img%% to display the thumbnail URL

Berri YouTube Gallery te da la posibilidad de mostrar una galería de vídeos de YouTube en tu sidebar con la apariencia personalizada y todo lo que necesitas es escribir las URLs de los vídeos en el panel de control del widget. No es necesario estar registrado en YouTube ni tener un código de la API de YouTube. Fácil de personalizar e incluso puedes poner la imágen que tu quieras en el thumbnail del vídeo.

Como instalar:1. Descarga berri-youtube-gallery.zip

2. Extráelo y súbelo a tu directorio de plugins

3. Dale permisos de escritura al directorio “wp-content/plugins/berri-youtube-gallery/images”

4. Activa el plugin

5. Añade YouTube Gallery a la sidebar de Widgets

6. Configura la galería en el panel del widget y guarda la configuración

7. Eso es todo

OPCIONES DE CONGIGURACIÓN

Berri YouTube Gallery Options

  • Title: El título del widget
  • Show YouTube watermark?: Márcalo para mostrar el logotipo de YouTube en los thumbnails
  • Show play image?: Márcalo para mostrar una imagen en el centro del thumbnail (imagen de play por ejemplo)
  • Play Image URL: Escribe la URL de una imagen PNG para personalizar la imagen del centro del thumbnail. Si no es PNG o dejas en blanco el campo se mostrará la imagen por defecto del play
  • Video URLs: Escribe la URLs de los vídeos que quieras mostrar en el sidebar. Una URL por línea
  • Display template: La template de cada vídeo. Está permitido usar código HTML. Puedes usar %%title%% para mostrar el título del vídeo, %%url%% para la URL del vídeo y %%img%% para la URL de la imagen

    Great idea for a Youtube gallery! :) Perhaps in the future it could be extended to sorting by e.g. categories? Then one could show videos from one category on one page or via widget etc.

    Respondiendo a tu comentario en mi blog: YouTube genera RSS para todos los usuarios, los tags y los nuevos añadidos, los más votados, los más vistos, etc etc etc.

    Toda la información la encuentras aquí: http://www.youtube.com/rssls

    Ahí se especifica que para poner automáticamente un canal de usuario, se generan los RSS a la siguiente dirección, por ejemplo, para el canal de un usuario llamado “youtube”:

    feed://www.youtube.com/rss/user/youtube/videos.rss

    Y el RSS para el tag “monkey”, la URL sería:

    feed://www.youtube.com/rss/tag/monkey.rss

    Esto es lo que yo te decía.

    Hola,
    He intentado seguir las instrucciones que describes pero no consigo instalar el berriyoutub gallery.zip. Lo he subido a mi servidor pero entro dentro de la administración del blog y en plugins no me aparece la opción de berriyoutubegallery. Hay algo seguro que estoy haciendo mal pero no consigo saber qué es. Si me puedes ayudar me harías un GRAN favor.

    #robyrobot: Hi. This gallery is not a normal plugin, it is a widget. You must go to Presentation->Widgets. There, place the widget into our sidebar. Here is more information about widgets:

    hi, when i try to add a video to the widget, it seems that save the changes in option-lightbox, but nothing is saved…
    i set the write permission like it is definied but i can’t get it works…
    any suggestion?

    I can’t get the thumbnails to show up. The links and widget show up on my sidebar but the thumbnails come up as question marks. here is the error:

    Very nice and working good, with a small problem. I cannot get rid of something that is automatically added to the title.

    I want to write ‘Aldo Giovanni e Giacomo’, but this is what comes out in Internet explorer:

    @lance: have you got the GD library installed?

    @Levois: I hasn’t video limit, so I’ll search for a bug.

    @Aaron: You have to turn off the php errors. On your htaccess, write: “php_flag display errors off”

    @Joel: With your FTP client, you can set the premissions. Probably with clicking right button and “properties”

    @Samuel: El tamaño de las miniaturas es fijo. Cuando haga una nueva versión intentaré que sea personalizable. Ahora mismo la manera sería cambiándolo en el código del plugin.

    @Mihai: I don’t like the “target=_blank”, I hate it ;)

    @Alex: Your hosting has to put the allow_url_fopen option enabled before using this plugin.

    @David B: Yes, because you host your own thumbnails.

    I’m sorry because I answer you so late (and because of my bad english). I’ll try to do it sooner next time.

    @TheFrankFactor: The people only will be thrown out of your site if they want. If you put target=”_blank” you will force the user to open a new tab or window, if you don’t you allow user to do it. Don’t force users to do nothing or they will be really thrown out of your site forever.

    @artberri: allowing a _blank declaration keeps your site open. in all my experience, this works better, because if you open a new page in the existing window, visitors can begin navigating around that site and your site will get lost in the past.

    keeping your site open in the current window and opening an external link in a new window allows an easy click back to your site, not to mention reaffirms the idea that the link is ‘external’

    this is an option i would very much like to see in an already good plugin.
